KALAMATA AND FILIATRA
Distant Indonesia’s culture
is traveling to Kalamata and Filiatra on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Shadow theatre, songs, music,
dancing and video projections will be performed for our entertainment in
Kalamata on Saturday and in Filiatra on Sunday.
It is a very original
production with the Indonesian Stage Bus which is touring our country
sending out a message of peace and aiming at a deeper appreciation of both
our cultures.
The Indonesian Bus is a
theatre on wheels, on a purpose built multi-purpose bus, 12 metres long
and fully equipped with a stage, a shadow theatre screen, video
projectors, grand piano, a drum set, etc. It is an offering of the
Indonesian government to the Cultural Olympiad 2001-2004.
The group, which is made up
of 20 people, gives performances in each town they visit from the
25th August to the end of the Paralympics.
The whole event is under the
auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Indonesia and the
Cultural Olympiad as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in
Greece.
