Aart
Marcus is an audio-visual installation artist from
Holland. After forming his own company that was
involved in museum installations, avant-garde furniture
design, and special projects, he began using his
background in electrical engineering to create, design,
and realize artworks to stimulate the imagination and
creativity of the viewing audience. The co-reaction of
one sense to stimulate another is one of the interesting
possibilities of electrical engineering which Marcus
employs in his artistic creations. One such
installation, for instance, involves rewiring of
television tubes with special sound-sensors attached to
electronic beams that draw “pictures” onto the screen of
pre-recorded musical tapes or even live sound sources.
Marcus has received numerous accolades and awards for
his innovative work as an audio-visual artist in
Holland.
