What a day in Newark, New Jersey!!!!
Friday -  a disaster with a happy ending

10.00 hrs
first we went to the US customs on Corbin Street.

12.50 hrs
They send us to Wallenius Wilhelmsen
at Berth 17 on Doremus Ave, Newark NJ
to drop off the Stage Bus and to get
the dock receipt

Tommy Fortin, the security officer
and Freddy B recognized us from 3 years ago.

13.00 hrs
We filled in the paper work and delivered the Bus
Then ......when the driver wanted to park the bus
at the loading station the clutch gave up.

We were stuck.

14.00 hrs
Then came Chuck.

15.00 hrs
He found the broken Hydrolic Line.
and took it out.

15.30 hrs
In the mean time Tommy called Volne
the cab driver to pick me up

I hurried to the customs to get the
dock receipt signed before 4 PM.

Luluk stayed with the Bus
Tommy gave her a Mag Lite - from the
port police & guards union / local 1456

16.30 hrs
After returning from customs
Chuck gave me the parts.

We went out with Volne and drove around
Newark Port to look for a repair shop.

17.00 hrs
There was Richie at J&C

Richie was already driving home.
He stopped and turned around and went into
his shop. Took the old hydrolic line and fixed it.
(because of us he forgot to bring his son to work)

18.30 hrs
The 3 of us had a Chinese dinner.
Volne took us back to Wallenius Wilhelmsen
at Berth 17.
I called Chuck on his cell phone and he was loading the ship.

19.30 hrs
Chuck picked me up with his car and drove us
to the Bus. We put the hydrolic line back in and drove the Bus to
the final loading destination.

20.30 hrs
Volne took us back to the hotel

21.00 hrs
Back at the hotel we realized that without the help
of Chuck, Tommy, Richie, Freddy B and Volne

there would have been no happy ending of this day.

Thank you for all your help.
