The Pattaya Music Festival made its debut in 2002 and was very well-received with a large turn-out international visitors as well as local music fans. Last year, fans of many of the performers, as well as media covering the music industry, flew in from abroad just for the event. Concerts were sold-out and hotels in Pattaya enjoyed record occupancy rates - in the high 90s. Continued success has led to a decision by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to feature the Pattaya Music Festival as an annual 'Summer Music and Sports' tourism promotion theme in the “Thailand Grand Festival” events calendar.

The festival sets out to position Pattaya as a family destination and a place for music-lovers.
