  • Kalla gives us a lesson of the extremes that we need to overcome to find what we love

What are we daring to do to obtain beauty and art? Certainly Mr. Yussuf Kalla has a lot to tell. He bought tickets, first row, to attend the concert of Carlos Santana, the worldly acclaimed Mexican musician from Autlan, Jalisco, and source of inspiration for many young people of all ages.

Santana’s music has been around for more than 40 years, and we all remember Jingo, Black Magic Woman, and the extraordinary “Samba pa ti”, which fulfilled the romantic dreams of so many millions of teen agers in the sixties.

So, certainly, Mr Kalla, who is a renowned art lover, bought the best tickets for this concert.

While he was on his way to Senayan, Mr Kalla got stocked in traffic, and there was no helicopter available. The only way to get to Senayan on time would be riding an Ojek; and an ojek he rode, risking his life just to listen to the music and filling his memory with the beauty of the most famous guitar in the world.
